
The Department of International Relations (DIR) is responsible for all academic exchange and cooperation programs with overseas universities, research institutes, government and/or business organizations. The DIR represents the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, for the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE).

UIBE is one of the first universities in China to have initiated academic exchanges with foreign academic institutions. Currently UIBE has established exchange and cooperative relations with over 100 universities and institutes in more than 30 countries or regions around the world. UIBE now has become one of China's most influential academic centers. UIBE has established long-term "sister university" relationships with over 60 foreign universities/colleges. Various other exchange activities are being conducted: scholar exchange, student exchange, joint education and research, cooperative training, publication exchanges and many other projects.

Every year, hundreds of scholars and experts from many parts of the world are invited to UIBE to give lectures or conduct joint research. Apart from that, a number of long-term language experts and teachers from different countries are employed each year. In addition, well-known politicians and businessman from around the world have paid visits and delivered speeches at UIBE.

Since 1980, UIBE has organized about 200 international or bilateral symposiums and conferences. Each year UIBE hosts a number of international conferences, which have not only promoted UIBE's international exchange and cooperation programs, but also won favorable comments from national and international participants, enhancing considerably UIBE's notoriety around the world. International Exchange Programs |
