

A brief introduction to the School of International Education (SIE) |

The School of International Education (SIE) isn't only the admissions department responsible for international students, it's also a School mainly responsible for conducting Chinese language classes.SIE has a special status at UIBE; established not only to recruit, supervise, and educate foreign students, but also responsible for promoting the international education program, recruiting overseas students, administering of student education information and assisting in the needs of their daily lives.As a School, SIE provides training programs in various languages, such as “An Introduction to Chinese” and “Business Chinese”, as well as refresher courses like “China Economy and Culture”.At the moment, over 2400 foreign students from more than 100 countries study at UIBE; around 1400 of whom are degree while the other 1000, are studying languages courses and various other advanced studies. In addition, a large number of students come to UIBE for a visit or short-term studies.Until now, thousands of foreign students have studied at UIBE, which provides them with not only a chance to improve their Chinese proficiency, but also hone their skills in the knowledge of Chinese culture, economy and trade. Many alumni students are currently involved in cultural, communication, and economic interaction with China and their respective countries.SIE consists of an Administrative Office, Admissions Office, Student Affairs Office, Offices of Academic Affairs and Administration, Office for Degree Education. All faculty are specialized, experienced, responsible and innovative. |
