SITM enrolls about 120 undergraduates, 40 postgraduates and
post doctorates, 150 international program students. When new students enter
into SITM, they are provided with many job opportunities.
The SITM focuses on the career design from the first day the students enters
the university, and holds lectures on career planning, which leads to a 95
percent employment rate, ranking the top in UIBE. With excellent English
ability and expertise, the graduates of SITM are competitive and popular
with large enterprises. In addition to continue their education either at
home or abroad, a majority of graduates can find idea jobs, such as working
in government, state-owned enterprises, and noted foreign companies, etc.
Jiang jingjing, the graduate in 2005, was the winner of an activity held
by CCTV, then worked in Cadbury's. Nearly 12 percent and 14 percent of the
total graduates have gone to the world's top four accounting firms in 2006
and 2007, respectively. Besides, there were also many graduates worked in
famous multi-national corporations such as IBM and MOTOROLA. The employers
have given high praise for the graduates for their high quality and excellent
skills. The SMIT has achieved its “Three-High” goal——high employment rate,
high employment quality and high satisfaction.

The Center of Experimental Education Demonstration of Modern Service Trade
Foster Specialists of University of International Business and Economics
was established in 2007. UIBE has covered up and absorbed the essence of

College attaches great importance to the external expansion of efforts to
provide students with a broad space for development, to build a good platform
for the development of the students. College and the well-known large companies
have extensive and in-depth association, and every year there are a large
number of students entering these enterprises to do their internship training.
At the same time, famous entrepreneurs came into the campus to give speech
to the students. College students and foreign college students often visits
mutually, go out and get-together to enhance communication and promote
friendship, which enhanced the ability of cross-cultural exchange of the

The students in SITM always positively participate in the various academic,

Academic Research
The school positively promotes the reform of scientific research,
transforms scientific thoughts, renews scientific methods, and improves the
research level, incorporating the research work into the university’s whole
framework. The scientific research focuses on the application of information
technology in economy, finance and business, actively implementing intellectual
training program, course construction and intellectual training mode and
teaching mode research.
The school undertakes the research subjects of the ministry of commerce,
science and technology ministry, People’s bank and other enterprises in Beijing.
At the same time, it participates in many other significant state programs,
such as the 10th 5-year plan on science and technology---Financial Information
and Demonstration Project, E-commerce and Research and Development of Modern
Logistic Technology and the Demonstration Project, while completing other
20 projects, such as national social science fund project, “Chinese and Foreign
Cooperation Platform” for the Ministry of Commerce, “E-commerce Intellectual
Property” for the Ministry of Science and Technology, “E-commerce Demonstration
Project” as well as “Modern Service Research”.
Concerning the teaching progress, the course “Information Management System”
has won “Beijing top-quality course”; “Information Management System”, “E-commerce”
and “Computer Application Basis” have been awarded “University’s Excellent
Teaching Achievements”; one of the teaching achievement has won the second
prize of teaching in Beijing; during the 10th 5-year, the school has compiled
and published more than 30 textbooks and 1.5 has been selected to the 10th
5-year plan textbooks of the Education Ministry, with 3 selected into the
experimental textbooks; 6 textbooks are selected into 11th 5-year textbook;
in 2006 it was awarded “Excellent E-commerce Case” of the Ministry of Commerce;
in 2007 it applied for many top-quality courses projects; in addition, from
2007 onwards the school began to hold the teaching seminar and scientific
research seminar once every year, promoting the mutual progress of teachers
and students.
The college has more than 50 faculty members presently, of
whom working here with the Senior Vice Title
are in excess of 20 people. The number of teachers with master's degrees
and above are more than 30. among the Professor ranks, two enjoy government
subsidies ;two are deputy directors of the Ministry of Education Steering
Committee for Professional Teaching, one are Secretary-General of the sub-committee
and one are expert in charge of modern scientific and technological supporting
services sector projects of Ministry of Science and Technology. In addition,
the College employs more than 10 famous experts in the field of e-commercial
and financial management from various ministries and other institutions of
higher learning as well as scientific research units as part-time professors.
The Center of Experimental Education Demonstration of Modern Service
Trade
The CEED is a research planet for subjects of economy, management and information,
the aims of which is to study the gravel situations of the modern service
industry, together with China’s ministries and committees and some Beijing
ministrations related. It also provides consultation and training services
for government and all modern service industries. The centre has already
studied approximately a dozen of social-science research programs, and has
made great contribution to the decision-making of development and to the
e-business and modern services industries.

role the international service industry has played in economic development,

The Center of Experimental Education Demonstration of Modern Service Trade
Foster Specialists of University of International Business and Economics
was established in 2007, which predecessor is Information College Experimental
Center. It is an experimental center that faces with many courses, such as
Business Management, Financial Management, Finance, Investment Management,
Information Management, Electronic Commerce, etc, and meet the experimental
education of trans-subject and scientific research. The center has special
experimental education system and distinct features, which is a hypostatic
institution that trains knowledge and skill-intensive specialists of service
trade and integrates teaching, practice and management. It is responsible
for organization of experimental education for Ph. D. and Master of Economics
and undergraduates of Electronic Commerce and Information Management, teaching
research and laboratory management. It is also a base of practice and research
for teachers and students.
Up to May, 2008, the area of the laboratory of center is 480 square meters.
It has over 260 facilities, including 6 servers and a certain number of network
equipments, and has 5 professional laboratory, including electronic commerce
laboratory, electronic service laboratory, enterprise informationalization
laboratory, information interview and edit center of cooperation network
of international business and economics and information technology laboratory.
The laboratory has more 20 computer software, including the management of
ERP and supply chain, quantity statistical analysis, and it also has database
resources like information of China and foreign countries.
The experimental center has offered many experimental courses and items,
including Electronic Commerce, Network Marketing, ERP and Supply Chain
Management, Decision Making Technique of Operation and Management, Network
Operative and applied Technology, Practical Training of Foreign Trade,
established complete database of experimental education, practical chain
of experimental courses+ research item+ specialized practice, experimental
education system of basis experiment, core experiment and characteristic
experiment. The center strongly supports scientific research and provides
professional experimental environment with researching items like “ebXML
Standard of Electronic Commerce Research”, “Modern Service Trade Research”,
“Interview and Edit Information System of Business and Economics of China
and Foreign Countries” as well as students’ graduation designs.
Modern Service Trade is a new industry that is based on the information technology
and the idea of modernized management and has relatively information and
knowledge-intensive features. Comparing with the traditional service trade,
it gives prominence to high-tech knowledge and technology.
The experimental center plays training specialists for modern service trade
at the center of their work, enlarges proportion of trans-subject synthesized experimental
courses by combining development goal of “Shi Yiwu”, offers experimental
courses for more subjects and students, particularly, further expands quantity
and scale of experimental courses and items, involves with larger and wider
fields, makes greater contribution to foster more inter-disciplinary
talents on the basis of strengthening experimental education.
The experimental center positively explores a mode of which how to organically
combine information technology and economy with management courses so as
to establish experimental education system of training the ability of practice,
scientific research and innovation of modern service trade specialists
under the support of schools and colleges.
On June, 2008, the panel of Beijing Educational Department claimed that the
experimental center has distinct features, definite constructive goal,
good teaching and working environment, scientific system of experimental
education, perfect experimental teaching programs and materials, reasonable
structure of experimental education specialists and effective managerial
system and operational mechanism since approved by their examination
and evaluation under the great support of schools and colleges. “The
Experimental Education Center of Modern Service Trade Foster Specialists”
was appointed Beijing City-level experimental education center. “The
Experimental Education Center of Modern Service Trade Foster Specialists”
is struggling for offering inter-disciplinary talents.
Public Business Information Service Base of National Ministry of Commerce:
Information Interview and Edit Centre of Cooperation Network of Business
and Economic of China and Foreign Countries
“Information Interview and Edit Centre of Cooperation Network of Business
and Economic of China and Foreign Countries” was established in Jul 2004,
which is the first information cooperation item between ministry of commerce
and universities. The work is managed by leaders of European Division, Information
Division of ministry of commerce and University of International and Business
and Economics (UIBE). The Information Interview and Edit Centre is mainly
in charge of interview and edit of daily information and network maintenance
of “China-Russia Cooperation Network of Business and Economics”,“Shanghai
Cooperation Network of Organization and Regional Economics”, “China-Egypt
Cooperation Network of Business and Economic”, “China-South Africa Cooperation
Network of Business and Economic”, “China-Turkey Cooperation Network of Business
and Economic”, “China-Kenya Cooperation Network of Business and Economic”.
The university not only makes full use of talent advantage of international
business, modern business, foreign language, and information management
etc; but also improves the conditions for scientific research for teachers.
Besides, it provides the new platform for students’ practice by constructing
the Centre.
“Information Interview and Edit Centre of Cooperation Network of Business
and Economic of China and Foreign Countries” became the practice base for
UIBE students since Jul 2004, which attract a large number of UIBE students
from all majors, also international students included.
Till Apr 2008, there are 427 students in total practice in Interview and
Edit Centre in recent three years, including 357 students from UIBE, and
70 students from other universities. It’s 65% undergraduate students and
35% postgraduate students. The students is from more than 10 majors in UIBE
with Information School, International Trade School, Business and Economics
School, Foreign Language School, Public Administration School, International
Business School, Law School and Economics Management School. Additional,
it is including the international students from Russia and the students from
particularly poor students from work-study centre.
Interview and Edit Centre gives priority to UIBE students, also can accept
the partly application from other universities students depending on actual
needs. There are 5% students from other universities, including Peking
University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, People’s University of
China and Beijing Union University etc. The practice students are responsible
for interview and edit of information, procession and column collation.
The postgraduates are mainly from information school, and in charge of
design, develop and maintenance of interview and edit systems.
The students take a very active role in teaching and research activities.
At the same time, 22 trainees are dispatched to European Division and Information
Division of Ministry of Commerce by Interview and Edit Centre. The students
performed well there and are affirmed by the employers.
The Item Introduction of Interview and Edit Center of Business and Economics
Cooperation Network of China and Foreign Countries of Ministry of Commerce
--“Business and Economics Cooperation Network Between China and Russia”
It is one of projects confirmed by periodic meeting committee between Chinese
and Russian Premiers, is the first website of cooperation between Chinese
government and foreign governments, and is an attempt to explore new way
of business and economics cooperation by applying modern information technology
between Chinese and Russian governments.
On 22nd September, 2004, opening ceremony of Business and Economics Cooperation
Network between China and Russia was held in Moscow.
Vice-Premier, Wuyi and Vice-Premier of Russian Federal Government, Zhukov
attended the ceremony and commonly opened the “website”. Up to the end
of April, 2008, “China and Russia Business and Economics Cooperation Network” cumulatively
released 45,400 Chinese and Russian information, and the cumulative visits
are 4,940 times since it was opened.
The Item Introduction of Interview and Edit Center of Business and Economics
Cooperation Network of China and Foreign Countries of Ministry of Commerce
--“Shanghai Cooperation Organization Area Economy Cooperation Network”
“Shanghai Cooperation Organization Area Economy Cooperation Network” is a
website established by “About the Issue of Memorandum of Understanding of
Shanghai Cooperation Organization Area Economy Cooperation Network”
signed by ministers of Trade Department from each member country of SCO in
Moscow on 14th September, 2004. On 23rd September, 2004, opening ceremony
of “Shanghai Cooperation Organization Area Economy Cooperation Network” was
held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Premier Wen Jiabao of State Council and other
Premiers from five member countries of SCO attended the ceremony and commonly opened the “website”.
Up to the end of April, 2008, “Shanghai Cooperation Organization Area Economy
Cooperation Network” cumulatively released 20,800 Chinese and Russian information,
and the cumulative visits are 1,307 times since it was opened.
