School of International Studies

School of international Studies has 19 professors and 48 associate professors, while 90 percent of its faculty members have master or doctor's degrees and every faculty member has overseas studying or training experiences.

It has established a set of complete, scientific, and advanced curriculum system in Business English, and has a unique, rationally structured and comprehensively strong teaching team, which has enabled the school to stand in an advance and forefront position in China. Business English Translation is another distinctive feature of the School. In 2001, School of English Studies and EU Committee jointly founded Sino-EU Senior Translator Training Center, which is the only high-level translator training organization between China and EU. Economic News Report is a newly developed major based on the needs arising from China's entry into WTO. This major is aiming at training talents with not only sound English interpreting and translating knowledge but also economic and business knowledge for major medias.

The high quality teaching and research of School of English Studies has enabled its students to achieve an above-95% pass rate in College English Test Grade 4 and Grade 6 for the past several years. Meanwhile, students from this school also have won First Prizes in the national 21 Century Cup English Speaking Contest.
