REQUIREMENTS
VISA (MVV) APPLICATION
FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS COMING TO THE NETHERLANDS

Exchange students from certain non European Union countries who wish to study in the Netherlands for a period exceeding 3 months require an MVV (entry visa). Arnhem Business School is able to apply for this visa (MVV) on behalf of the student, via a special shorter procedure. The cost of the MVV is €250 which is paid by Arnhem Business School to the Immigration Department on behalf of the student when applying for the MVV. The student will receive an invoice for this amount and will be requested to pay this to ABS.

A. Documents required for the visa (MVV) application

  1. Copy of a valid passport
  1. Proof of health insurance covering the student in the Netherlands (the student may also apply for health insurance on arrival in the Netherlands, for which ABS has the application forms or via the following website: www.ace-ips-nl.com)

  1. For Chinese students (passport holders of mainland China): a NESO certificate (see www.nesobeijing.com for detailed information)
  1. Proof of sufficient financial means: Students need to prove that they have sufficient finances to support them during their stay in The Netherlands. It is published on their website: http://www.ind.nl/nl/algemeen/begrippen/tabel_normbedragen.asp (see the amount given for ¡°Hoger beroepsonderwijs/Wetenschappelijk onderwijs¡±).

The current amount is approximately : € 750 per month. For purposes of the visa application, the student should prove that he/she has the total amount of at least € 750 x the number of months spent in The Netherlands (e.g. for one semester this would be 6 x € 750 = € 4500) available.

The student has 3 options to prove sufficient financial means:

  • Option 1:

Transfer the funds to Arnhem Business School:
the student may transfer the total amount (4500,00 euro¡¯s) to the bank account of Arnhem Business School, which will be used as proof of sufficient funds. This amount includes:
